These Hands: Marj (Erin's Mom)

Who better to include in our "These Hands" series than our own families? We figured that Thanksgiving week was a fitting time. I am incredibly thankful for my mom.
My mom is an incredible artist. Currently she has been focusing on beautiful paper mosaics and paper earrings, but she also has some impressive watercolor skills that I've always been jealous of. My parents still live in Oregon, but I've moved to Kansas, so I rarely get to see them. Every time that we do get to be together though, I see myself turning more and more into my mother - which is something I don't mind in the slightest. I was so happy when she agreed to do our These Hands series!

She also just recently opened an Etsy shop, Marj Engle Designs, so go take a look at all of her artwork there! Here are Marj's hands...

Hello friends! We are Marilyn and Kaleb of Brewed Together, a lifestyle blog and portfolio of our creative adventures. These Hands: Chandra of Modern Day Charm

We are so happy to introduce Chandra from Modern Day Charm as the next contributor to our "These Hands" series. We first started following her blog and admiring her sense of style and beautiful personality a few years ago and were so happy to find that she had started up again! We were so happy that she agreed to be a part of or series! Here is a peek into what Chandra's hands do:

These hands touch the shoulders of anyone of all ethnicity, age, and status on a daily basis. These hands cover my mouth as I laugh. These hands creatively translate the self image and self confidence of people who put their confidence in me. These hands write words for the voiceless which in turn are then broadcasted world wide to reach others who want to advocate, full circle. These hands are garnished with the same rings every day. These hands communicate small messages to my friends around the world. These hands bake. They bake to raise money to travel to a third world country and teach girls cosmetology who are in danger of being sex trafficked. They bake to give them an opportunity of lasting freedom and self empowerment. 

These hands will cut children's hair at safe-houses and rub the feet and hands of volunteers who care for these children everyday. These hands hide in pockets when I'm nervous. These hands are tattooed with three marks that remind me to work on three things about myself every month. These hands cut the wind with the windows open while driving. These hands style, apply make up, and do hair for photo shoots.

These hands belong not only to me, but they belong to anyone who needs a hand.

We were so delighted when Amanda of Indie Jane agreed to participate in our These Hands series (in fact I think Erin and I danced around in glee when we read her message...). She has been someone that we have looked up to and admired for so long! She has the most adorable blog where she posts gorgeous outfits, pictures of her adorable little home and animals, and lots of delicious recipes. Amanda also runs a photography business that is out of this world-her photographs are so beautiful! We would definitely encourage everyone to check her out. Here are Amanda's hands...
