I spent my Spring Break on a charter bus with 50+ other people, driving around the Midwest, singing to crowds of people, both big and small. Choir tour is a wonderful experience, but also exhausting.

We started off the tour on the Friday afternoon before break started. Starting in Topeka, we went from there to St. Louis, Cincinnati, Bluffton [OH], Goshen/Elkhart [IN], Chicago, Normal [IL], Kansas City and back to Newton for our home concert on Sunday. I had big plans to get all kinds of things done on the bus ride, but those sort of failed. I did make some progress, though I was definitely distracted by the unexpected fact that the bus had WiFi on it.

Most of our week consisted of bus riding and concert singing, but once we got to Chicago we had much more free time. Our entire choir was gifted City Passes (about a $90 value each) and Thursday we had completely free. I got to go to the Shedd Aquarium, the Field Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Sky Deck. Also, a lot of shopping and tasty food. While we were in St. Louis we also had the opportunity to go to the city museum, which is this crazy jungle gym structure that is overwhelming and full of many children, but awesome nonetheless.

It was such a fun week, and choir tour never fails to be an amazing bonding experience.

Erin, Fantastic photos! What kind of camera/lens are you sporting?

Thanks! I have a Nikon D60 with a 18-105mm lens, then a 50mm f/1.8 manual focus lens.

So exciting that you got to spend time in Chicago! I loved looking at the pictures and remembering my childhood. That city holds some of my favorite places. Also, I miss hearing your beautiful voice.

Oh I miss my choir days!! I loved the traveling and singing in old buildings and beautiful churches. Just seeing new parts of the country and being to sing in those places was so amazing.

And that glass wall thing? Holy cow I would be terrified to stand in it. But I would make myself. Because that looks awesome.
