Creamy Pumpkin Cocktail

Fall weather is finally making an appearance. Kind of. Mostly. That means it's time for pumpkin everything ever. So why not a pumpkin cocktail? Naturally.

I wanted something cold, because the weather hasn't quite calmed down sufficiently yet, and creamy. Cold, creamy and pumpkiny. MAKE THIS.


You'll need: 1.5 oz half & half 1/8 heaping cup pumpkin 1.5 oz honey whiskey a pinch pumpkin pie spice cinnamon to top Put the half & half and pumpkin in a shaker, and get the pumpkin all mixed up in there. Then add the rest of the ingredients and give it another quick shake. Simple.

It's creamy, delicious, pumpkiny and not too sweet. The honey whiskey adds that slight touch of sweet, but if you like your cocktails sweeter I would just add a drizzle of honey. What is your favorite fall drink? -a clover & a bee

Erin's Birthday Special

In our opinions, the best way to celebrate a 21st birthday is with a sugary drink that takes way more work than you would be willing to spend time making yourself on any ordinary day. So for Erin's birthday we cooked up a little something special. Two weeks before our party we picked up a handle of vodka and 24 lemons in order to make a batch of limoncello. To make it, you soak the entire handle with the peels of 24 lemons for two weeks (Props to Erin for ever so carefully peeling and juicing each and every one of those lemons all by herself!!) Once soaking, we stored it in a closed container deep in the crowded cupboards of our tiny kitchen.  After the two weeks was up we whipped it back out, mixed it with varying amounts of orange juice and grenadine and served it to our guests. It was quite the hit and super delicious. We highly recommend it. What is your favorite sugary cocktail? -a clover & a bee

erin's birthday

We get so much joy out of planning parties-for some odd reason cleaning and decorating gives us a thrill. We spent all day Saturday hanging lights, tidying up our messy apartment (hey, life happens, right?), putting out refreshments, and adding little bits of decor here and there. We didn't want to go too overboard though, as both of us have pretty tight schedules and lots of things that fill up our free time. Our apartment looked and felt so wonderful by the time we were done. It really made us want to keep it that way! Though we realize that isn't always possible. We had our guests bring over their favorite cocktail or drink to serve potluck style, which ended up being a huge hit! People brought supplies to make margaritas, butterbeer, whiskey sours, and so much more. We even created a fun drink for the evening that we can't wait to share! It is always such a delight to get to spend time with the people you love. It was so wonderful to have everyone over to celebrate Erin's 21st.  Happy Birthday Erin.
