It is our understanding that adulthood begins as soon as you start to host parties and events at your own home or when you begin to be expected to bring things to other events. Based on this understanding, today marks the day that Erin and I have finally become adults.
We have been running around preparing for our first over Friendsgiving; collecting and creating centerpieces and table furnishings, shopping for and cooking several dishes (more than just one for once!!), and cleaning and arranging our little home. I was in charge of all of the crafts and decorating, while Erin busied herself creating a wonderful meal. We had our guests bring drinks to serve, Kara made the most delicious cider! We will have to steal the recipe!
The work was well worth it in the end. We had such a fun time acting like little hosts; taking coats, starting in the living room with cheese and crackers, and enjoying conversation with our friends Sara and Kara. We even got to celebrate Kara's birthday! We had so much fun on our first full day of adulthood and can't wait to host similar events in the future!
When was the first day you felt like a true adult?

  1. Gah! I LOVE friendsgiving! We do one every year the evening after Thanksgiving and unfortunately I will be missing it this year while in Florida.
    Happy adulthood, yo!
